Swing Switch Dance
Hawaii Trip
Chris Myers and Lynda Kauffman of the Fort Worth Chapter (our social chair persons) have
put together a Hawaii trip to Maui and Oahu for October 2006. They have gotten some great
prices for the whole trip including airfare and car rental included. You may have seen the
information on our dance announce list emails and there will be something I'm sure in our
newsletter on it. But here is the contact information to the travel agent handling this for us:

We
had a great turnout for the workshop on Fathers Day at LMRA. This was a beginner workshop
combined with LMRA dance students. I want to congratulate Ted Myers on our E-Board and
Leroy Woolsey
on putting this together. All I heard all day was compliments on the classes being taught and the
instructors invited in to teach. Ted will be putting more of these together and thanks for doing a
great job.
Jeff and Trish have invited us again out to their lake home on Tuesday, July 4th,
6:00 for some fun in the sun.
They live at 10201 Liberty School Road, Azle, Texas 76020. Bring yourself and a covered dish
and we will also
have hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the chapter. BYOB and dress comfy. Also bring
some lawn chairs if
you want and plan to have a fun fun day. You can find the directions on Mapquest or call one of
us and we can tell
you how to get there. Hope to see you there! There is a FIREWORKS BAN....
Friday
night... we have decided to visit our
sister chapter the Westside Shufflers at Electric Cowboy’s on
Friday nights for a while. As you know we usually leave around 9:30 to 10:00 as it gets
more crowded by
then and the restaurants clear out so it’s a win win situation for both of us.
Saturday night...you will find us at
The Horseman Club doing our thing. This is our home base so come out
and join us for a fun night of dancing and being with friends.
If you would like to be informed about upcoming events or reminders on top of the
dance announce list then send me your email address and I will see that you get a
reminder. We have more workshops coming up and you need to be informed about
these. A lot of time is spent putting these together for you and I know if you just know
about them sooner you would want to attend. Ron and I and Donnie and Melinda and
so many others have gone to so many workshops over the years and I never come away
without some new knowledge or a reminder of something I knew to do but just had let
that idea or technique slip away. You know we are not getting any younger and the
minds are starting to go...so come to the workshops to try and stay ahead of this old age
thing.
Ron and I taught Swing Switch at E.C. on May 14th. This is a fun East Coast Dance with
couples and we
used to do this at Horseman and Cheyanne Cattle Company years ago. If you would like to
learn this fun
dance let me know and we will schedule a class somewhere for it. We are going to start doing it
again
at Horseman and E.C. as soon as we have enough people to give it justice again.
We are looking for ideas for a road trip. We love taking these short weekend
excursions around Texas. If you know of a fun club you have been to before and
it’s a town we can drive to on a Saturday, dance that night at the club and
see some sights the next day in the area and then drive back let me know. We
