Memorial Weekend Sunday Eagle Mountain Lake Fun Day
Jeff and Trish have invited us out to their lake home on Monday, May 30th at 1:00 for some fun in the sun. They
live at 10201 Liberty School Road, Azle, Texas 76020. Bring yourself and a covered dish and we will also have
hamburgers and hotdogs provided by the chapter. BYOB and dress comfy. Also bring some
lawn chairs if you
want and plan to have a fun fun day. You can find the directions on Mapquest or call one of us and we can tell you
how to get there. Hope to see you there!
Mystery Whodunit Sunday!!!
This fun idea from Lynda Kauffman has been put on hold for the time being. This is going to be a little more
complicated than we first thought and will take place in the fall.

Swing Switch Dance
Hawaii Trip
Chris Myers and Lynda Kauffman of the Fort Worth Chapter (our social chair persons) have
put together a Hawaii trip to Maui and Oahu for October 2006. They have gotten some great
prices for the whole trip including airfare and car rental included. You may have seen the
information on our dance announce list emails and there will be something I'm sure in our
newsletter on it. But here is the contact information to the travel agent handling this for us:
Good friends are like stars...You don't always see them but you always know they are there.
Friday night... we have decided to visit our
sister chapter the Westside Shufflers at Electric Cowboy’s on
Friday nights for a while. As you know we usually leave around 9:30 to 10:00 as it gets more crowded by
then and the restaurants clear out so it’s a win win situation for both of us.
Saturday night...you will find us at The Horseman Club doing our thing. This is our home base so come out
and join us for a fun night of dancing and being with friends.
I want to thank Margaret and Jerry Marshall for asking a few of us to perform for TCWDA at a class
reunion for an area high school. We danced for the years 1956-1961. This took place at one of the high
school graduates 6 Million dollar home in Arlington. There was an air-conditioned tent almost the size of
The Horseman with a dance floor and band stage area. In fact they brought in Robin English and her band
from Nashville as the final act. Everyone was so nice to us and of course Ron Crider and Wayne Chapman
were giving the women a hard time as usual. When these women would ask who they were and have a
puzzled look on their faces Ron and Wayne would say...don’t you remember me...we dated back in our
junior year or don’t you remember our time under the bleachers? Fun Fun night. We ended the night at
Wayne and Carols for our 3rd dessert of the night and wonderful coffee and a laughing good time on the
deck under the trees with friends.

reminder. We have more workshops coming up and you need to be informed about
these. A lot of time is spent putting these together for you and I know if you just know
about them sooner you would want to attend. Ron and I and Donnie and Melinda and
so many others have gone to so many workshops over the years and I never come away
without some new knowledge or a reminder of something I knew to do but just had let
that idea or technique slip away. You know we are not getting any younger and the
minds are starting to go...so come to the workshops to try and stay ahead of this old age
thing.
Ron and I taught Swing Switch at E.C. on May 14th. This is a fun East Coast Dance with couples and we
used to do this at Horseman and Cheyanne Cattle Company years ago. If you would like to learn this fun
dance let me know and we will schedule a class somewhere for it. We are going to start doing it again
at Horseman and E.C. as soon as we have enough people to give it justice again.
We are looking for ideas for a road trip. We love taking these short weekend
excursions around Texas. If you know of a fun club you have been to before and
it’s a town we can drive to on a Saturday, dance that night at the club and
see some sights the next day in the area and then drive back let me know. We
