Good friends are like stars...You don't always see them but you always know they are there. Iraq...Fort Worth Chapter has your back!!!

Mystery Whodunit Sunday!!!

Your officers are planning a “Mystery Who Done It Sunday” June 11th for your participation and enjoyment. It will start at 1:00 P.M. at our home at 5813 Whitman Ave. We will have actors to act out the parts and chapter members not in the production will find out if it was Colonel Mustard with the lead pipe weighted dance shoe whodunit in the conservatory practice room. While in the Library did Mrs. White hear... the faint music of Colonel Mustard’s favorite west coast swing song playing in the DVD player. But she was busy talking to Mrs. Peacock and Miss Scarlet about the fabulous new move that Colonel Mustard had danced with the 3 women the Saturday night before at The Horseman Club? ...Well, you will have to come to the Mystery Whodunit Sunday to find out whodunit and where they dunit and with what they dunit!!! We will probably start around 1:00 and will serve snacks during the intermission. We will finish the whodunit before any Sunday night dance lessons begin. If for no other reason come and see if your fellow dancers can act. That should be enough of a hoot right there. I think we will be surprised at the ability some of your friends have. Personally I’m really looking forward to this event.

Hugging is Healthy

We need four hugs a day for survival.
We need eight hugs a day for maintenance.
We need twelve hugs a day for growth.

We should be so healthy with all the hugs we get out dancing with our friends!

Have a great Spring & Summer!

Note from your Prez…Beki

I want to say thanks to the Midland/Odessa Chapter for being the wonderful friendly dance family that they are. As usual they took care of all us that attended the workshop that Ron and I taught. We also appreciated the help our chapter members Lynda Kauffman and John V.; (E-Board Prez.) gave in assisting in the class with instructional guidance. I think next year we will be teaching intermediate to advance classes and we will have 2 more instructors teaching the beginning classes. We had very large classes and so enjoyed teaching for them.

Promotions Announcement

Cool or What!!! M/O Chapter made a promotions announcement for the dance workshop that Ron & I taught. It ran for 3 weeks prior to the workshop on one of the most popular country and western stations in that region. We were listening to the radio and heard our names. Way Cool… I think this also created larger classes as we had ballroom dancers in attendance for the classes, too.

Attention to All

Dance lessons, Dance lessons Dance lessons...Any lesson you can take does pay off. There is always something in a lesson that the instructor will tell you that you may have not known or have forgotten that will help you to dance a little better than before.

Donnie and Melinda who have taken lessons for years gave a good performance at the LMRA Country Fun Dance on Friday, April 21st. A lot of us were there to have fun dancing and also support our members in their exhibition dance.

If you did not know about this then you have only yourself to blame as it went out on the TCWDA Dance Announce list. If you are not a member of this email list then let me know and I will see that you are sent an invitation to join. This email list is great for last minute changes and upcoming events.

Road Trip

We are looking for ideas for a road trip. We love taking these short weekend excursions around Texas. If you know of a fun club you have been to before and it’s a town we can drive to on a Saturday, dance that night at the club and see some sights the next day in the area and then drive back let me know. We might plan this for May or June. Just send an email to me at: CronBekiC@charter.net

Hawaii Trip

Chris Myers and Lynda Kauffman of the Fort Worth Chapter (our social chair persons) have put together a Hawaii trip to Maui and Oahu for October 2006. They have gotten some great prices for the whole trip including airfare and car rental included. You may have seen the information on our dance announce list emails and there will be something I'm sure in our newsletter on it. But here is the contact information to the travel agent handling this for us:

The reference number for the trip is TGSV8, through Kim at Hawaii Travel Bureau, email address kim@hawaiitravelbureau.com.
