We are already 1 month into 2006 and I can’t believe how time is flying by. It seems only
yesterday that we
were dealing with the Y2K problem we were all so worried about. There will be several things
going on this
year so be sure and read your newsletter for information about our events and events in other
chapters.
You can attend any chapters function. They are open to all and you will meet some wonderful
people in our
sister chapters.

Your new officers hope you enjoy your dancing in 2006 and we are here to help
make that time special. We
will be planning things and attending other chapter events. Lynda Kauffman and Chris Myers are
your
Social Directors. Assist them and help them with ideas about things for us to do.
If you want a special
dance for a holiday, a road trip to dance at a special club you know about even out of town let
them know
or
come to our meetings and let’s discuss it. We are always looking for new ideas. These two are
very creative
and I know they will supply us with a fun year of dancing for our chapter.

TCWDA Pride Dance Contest
This contest will start probably in April but watch your newsletter to know the exact
kick-off date. Ted
Myers will be putting together the rules and getting us a clearer interpretation of them. Just to
give you a
heads up on this...You will be dancing in your own level and against dancers of your own level.
You will not
be competing against a Top Gun dancer if you are an intermediate dancer. Whatever club hosts
the event
wants dancers from all chapters to enter. The winning couple’s chapter will also be recognized
as far as
points going to see which chapter eventually holds the big chapter trophy at the end of all chapter
contests.
Each chapter will hold a contest and they will want all TCWDA dancers to enter. We will
probably have at
least 4 or 5 divisions...Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Top Gun and maybe even Cabaret or
Open
Division. I would love to see us get some of our top level instructors to compete and show what
they can
really do. This is really going to be big and I think you will really enjoy it a lot.
Lately we have been going to Cowboys on Friday nights when they don’t have
a band and then to Horseman
Club on Saturdays. Come sit and hang with your Chapter. We are by the DJ booth. We would
love to get to
know all our members. Just come say hi and let me know who you are and I will introduce you
to all our
members present.
Good friends are like stars...You don't always see them but you always know they are there.

FRIDAY NIGHT:
*No cover until 8:00
Saturday Nigh...no cover all night and our own music from 7:00 until 8:30. What a great deal. Come on out and join us for a fun night of social dancing!!!
* Indicates Horseman may not be available because of $10.00 cover
for a band.
