New Years Eve Private Association Dance Party

The Holiday Inn North at Meacham Blvd. is where you will find most of the FW Chapter spending New Years Eve. We have had several of these special parties over the 15 years that the FW Chapter has been in existence and they are always a success and the best time. The cost is $40.00 per person and that includes the meal served after midnight by the hotel. Michael O'Brian will be our DJ for the event. Send your check in to reserve your spot to TCWDA, New Years Eve Dance, P.O. Box 167056, Irving, Texas 75016-7056. You can also stay at the hotel for $59.00 a night, a special rate for TCWDA. See article in this Newsletter for more information.

The Fort Worth Chapter has been busy this year.  Some of it has been fun and some, not so fun.  We've had a lot of injuries this season and so, to all who have had to sit on the sidelines and heal, I want to say - Get well and hurry back!!!  We miss you.

I hear the Christmas Party at Beki and Ron Crider's was great fun.  Unfortunately I was unable to attend but I hear there were some new faces in the crowd.  That's great.  We can't keep it going if we don't have new folks coming in.  The food was fantastic, as always.

The quick Chapter meeting at the Christmas Party yielded and interesting assortment of Chapter Officers for next year.  They are:

    President Beki Crider
    Vice President Trish  Simpson
    Secretary/Treasurer Lynda Kaufman
    Membership John Lester
    Historian  Fred Blundell

We have the following Fort Worth Chapter folks helping out in other functions for 2006.  Thank you Fort Worth Chapter members, for stepping up and helping so our Association can be better than ever in 2006.

Ted Myers has again accepted workshops for 2006 Executive Board
Donnie Stewart is now on the Executive Board assisting with 2006 workshops
Joy Ough is CIT Editor
Bob Ough is Web Master

There have been discussion regarding 2006's Chapter Sponsored trip.  The last three years have been great fun.  2003 was a small gathering on a Carnival Cruise out of Galveston.  2004 we went with the Billy Bob's cruise, also out of Galveston.  We had a total of 52 people we could say were part of our little group.  2005 took us to Florida and to islands some of us had never been to.  It was a smaller group due to the distance, but we had a lot of fun.  I've heard rumors of Hawaii, Las Vegas, Puerta Viarta, Los Cabos, and a few other ideas.  Chris Myers has been doing the legwork for this one.  Thanks, Chris.

As for 2006, we'll be setting some events and using the TCWDA Announce list as well as the newsletter to let everyone know what we're up to.  We always need volunteers so please contact one of the new officers if you'd like to help or have any ideas for the new year.

For now, you can find the Fort Worth Chapter at Cowboys Arlington on Friday nights and the Horseman Club on Saturday nights.  If there's a big name band on one of those nights, we make other plans on the fly, so watch the announce list!
