Howdy from the Lester Ranch!

Since no one else offered to do the Fort Worth article y'all are going to have to put up with my redneck manifesto.

Yep, I reckon it's been hot but this here is Texas in the summer. If you thought this month was going to be cool, then welcome to Texas.

Since we last sat around the campfire, we'd had a heck of a picnic at Jeff and Trish's house on Eagle Mountain Lake. They are great hosts and hostesses and make everyone feel welcome.

They have a large covered gazebo and there is always a cool breeze coming off the water. We had the opportunity to put the newsletter together during the picnic and proceeded to do so after all the grub had been consumed. We no sooner got started than we had a little thunderstorm blow in. Faster than you can say "Oh @#$%^&&" we gathered everything up and toted it inside to the dining table. Sure enough, we got it finished. Good thing we didn't stay outside and try to ride it out cuz it rained so hard, we couldn't see the boat dock.

The only reason we are able to do things like putting the newsletter together at a picnic is because our E-Board President, John Vislosky, has such a great van. You wouldn't believe what he keeps in that van.

My better half's birthday was in June and we had a small intimate dinner that grew into a table for 20 at Cheryl's favorite restaurant. She was tickled to death with all her friends showing up on a week night for her birthday dinner and even happier with her presents of dance lessons with Wayne Chapman.

The following Saturday we did yet another birthday party at the Horseman Club and I have no idea how many people were there but it was a crowd. I want to thank everyone that made both events such a great time for Cheryl. Cheryl says thanks too.

This just in – we are doing a 4th of July Party at Jeff and Trish's. If you haven't been, you really need to be there for the food and fellowship. If anyone needs directions, just ask anyone but Beki Crider and we'll get you there.

Check out the flyer elsewhere in this issue for the workshop at the Horseman on July 23rd. See y'all on the dance floor.

As of late, the Fort Worth Chapter has been going to Cowboys in Arlington on Friday nights.  The Horseman Club has had bands on Friday nights with a pricey cover charge.  We love seeing our friends at Cowboys but we can still be found at the Horseman on Saturday nights.
