WE GOT YOUR BACK!

Hurry Home!

Our Loss, Heaven’s Gain

The Fort Worth Chapter lost a special family member in March.   Jim Couchman passed away. He was a special dancer, giving of his expertise and time to help anyone who asked. He was always there for us. Jim had been sick for a long time and in a lot of pain and yet he still came dancing every weekend with us. I’m sure Saint Peter had already placed a yellow ribbon on the gates of heaven and met Jim there calling yet another Veteran home. The upside of this... Our Jim is whole again and pain free and I can see Jim now teaching in heaven. He’ll get them ready for the rest of us and some day... I will dance with my friend again. The Fort Worth Chapter wants to thank Barbara Shephard for all her help in the funeral arrangements for our friend. Yes, his bar stool will be taken over by another dancer, but there will always be our memories of our dear friend and family member, Jim.

Road Trip-Wow!

FW road trip was a blast. We had 18 people arrive in Longview for a dance funfest at the Reo Palm Isle Night Club. The club loved us and begged and pleaded for us to come and teach at least once a month. Talk about your long drive...They treated us great and allowed us to all pack onto their air mattress under the riding bull for a group picture with Tommie Neiman and Lynda Kauffman astride the bull. We ran into an old FW chapter member that lives there now and talked a while to her. Sunday found us scattered going gambling, shopping, site seeing. I understand John V. (E-Board Pres.) won money. Next road trip may be a train trip somewhere. I guaranty the train will never be the same again. See trip pictures Slideshows page.
