Tips for on and off the dance floorIf you ever wanted to dance more than you did here is a surefire way to get more floor time. ASK SOMEONE TO DANCE!!!!!! Yup, I know that sounds too simple but it works. Ladies, if you have never asked a guy to dance I'm sure you will be uncomfortable but try and put yourself in the guys shoes. We have been making that long walk over to ask you to dance (and that long walk back after being rejected) for a long time, it may be your turn to try it. If the cowboy is with a cowgirl and you don't know them real well ask her if you can dance with her fella. When the dance is over thank them BOTH. Believe me when I say it's a boost to my ego when a pretty filly asks me to dance. Guys, you already know how to ask so stop thinking about it and do it. Word of warning, a few drinks may give you courage but it doesn't help you timing or coordination.

Howdy from the Trail BossWell it's been too long since ya'll herd from the horses..... duuuhhh mouth, so here ya go. December's been a heck of a month what with the weather going from downright purty to freezing, cold, yucky rain. But hey, there ain't nothing I can do about it so I'll quit bellyaching.
We've been having a great time at the Horseman and it got a whole lot better when our good friends from Midland Odessa drove into town to dance and party with us. Chuck and Pat Pagliaroli and Jerome and Peggy Hoelscher are some of our great friends from West Texas that we love dancing and just hanging out with. They got into town and went dancing with us at the Horseman and then out to dinner that night. They also stayed so they could attend Ron and Beki's Fort Worth Chapter Christmas Party and the big shindig at National Hall the following night.
Ron and Beki had their house decorated like a Christmas Wonderland and as usual, they were terrific hosts. My wife, Cheryl, provided a turkey and Ron Crider deep fried it and it was finger-lickin good. Along with the great grub and rot gut drinks, we also played our favorite game - - Liar's Club. The twist this year was it was the girls who were the liars and I'll be dipped if some of them weren't pretty darn good. Beki Crider, Melinda Stewart, Cheryl Lester, Peggy Hoelscher were all pretty good but the hands down winner was Pat Quick. Peggy may not have been the best liar but she was by far and away the best contestant (hey, you had to be there.)
It was a dark and stormy night, yeah I know but that's just how the big TCWDA Party started out. Even cold temperatures and a steady drizzle couldn't keep over 100 of us from having a good time at National Hall. First off, I'd like to thank Al Green for deejaying and Karen RoseBorough for manning the sign in table and all the other work that she did the whole night.
There's too many people to list to thank for a great party but needless to say, everybody who was involved in prepping the Hall, setting up the food and watching over the parking lot - - a big THANK YA'LL doesn't seem like enough. The donations of food and quite a few $$$$ will be more than welcome by our charities. I also want to thank Paula for coming over and shining shoes and boots and then donating it all to our charity. The dance floor was terrific, the music kept everyone on the floor and the vittles were just downright tasty. Some folks won some terrific prizes (but no, not me).
Well, this here is the last roundup for this year so I hope the New Year Keeps us all in green pastures and fair weather. I hope the big guy upstairs lets us have a year without the tragedies we went through this year.
Head 'em up and move 'em out!
