Member Rights vs. Privileges

As a Member of TCWDA you have rights and privileges. However, TCWDA Members do not have rights in the establishments that honor the TCWDA card. Members have privileges and these privileges are granted by the establishments and the establishments have the right to revoke these privileges.

There has been an ongoing problem at The Horseman Club. Some Members have been presenting expired cards, while others have been trying to get them selves and several guests in on their card. The rule is quite simple; one current card will admit the Member whose name appears on the card.

What escalated the problem was when Horseman personal questioned the validity of the card or tried to explain that the card allowed entrance to the Member and the Member only, the Member presenting the card became abusive. Abusive behavior toward an employee of any establishment that honors the TCWDA card should not and will not be tolerated by the Association or by the establishment.

J. D. Jutson Manager of The Horseman Club presented the problem to several of the Officers of the Fort Worth Chapter to make them aware of the situation. The problem will be corrected as follows; any TCWDA Member who is abusive to any Member of The Horseman Staff will be asked to leave and not come back. In other words the Member will be thrown out and barred from the club. The Officers of the Fort Worth Chapter are in complete agreement with the course of action The Horseman Club has chosen.

Dancing the Night Away

If you come to the All Members Meeting on October 27th, then you will see our Chapter Dance Team perform an exhibition for the meeting. We have a special production put together just for this event. I want to really thank the girls on our dance team "The Floor Play Dancers" for their help and hard work to get this pulled together in time.

Our coach is John Lester and he is relentless in his pursuit of perfection...(trust me on this one, the man's a tyrant!) Just kidding...He is great. Don Hancock is also helping us out with the practice sessions.

Vera Hancock obtained our practice place and set it all up for us. Vera and Don also taped our last dress rehearsal so we could see what John, Ron and Donnie were seeing that we could not.

A big thanks to Donnie for being our Electrician and making all our special lights, Ron Crider for making our painting pole and helping to pick out costume material and also for making Melinda Stewart's costume. Melinda also made all of our gloves and boot covers. All these above people also spent 6 hours at this dress rehearsal working with us on lighting and costumes.

A big thanks to George Arndt who worked on our music and tried his best to figure out this program I bought to cut CD's and splice other songs in. (I think I bought way over our heads on this program).

Finally Melinda was able to get her dance instructor to cut our music for us. Thank you so much Gina, the music is great!

The biggest thanks goes to the girls of Floor Play. They worked long and hard with several late nights a week on this production. They are: Cheryl Lester, Pat Quick, Brenda Horton, Chris Hopkins, Melinda Stewart and me, Beki Crider.

We hope you will like the production, we enjoy doing it for you. If you are interested in being in a production in the future let me know. We don't have another one scheduled yet, but you never know...

Election of New Officers

It's that time again to elect your 2002 board of officers, for the Fort Worth Chapter. The Chapter will be using a used Florida Punch Card Voting Maching, for the election. The E-board will check for hanging chads.

If you would like a position on the board or would like to nominate someone, call John Lester or myself and let us know. We will also take nominations at our Christmas Party on December 15, 2001. We will vote at this party for our new slate of officers. If you would like to be part of the Newsletter Staff, let me know.

A Special Thank You To Cory

I want to thank Cory, our DJ for my song and dance he personally did for my birthday. It was a wonderful surprise and meant so much to me for him to come down from the booth and sing and dance for me. He always does so many nice things just for us and I want him to know how much I and we as TCWDA appreciate him. Thank you, your the best!!! As I've said before, keep your head up, don't look at the floor and dance like nobody's watching and love like it's never going to hurt.
