DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY If you want to find the Fort Worth Chapter, look no further than the dance floor. It doesn't matter what song Cory plays, we find a dance that fits the beat. Luckily some songs lend themselves to several dances, which makes for a very satisfied group of people. I want to thank Cory for playing our Hideaway CHA dance for the chapter. We love to CHA and I hope by this time next month to have the dance line choreographed to both sides of the floor and where we interweave with each other. I think it's going to take more practice. Maybe I need the Professor Harold theory...you know (...The Music Man). Here we go girls...Think minuet in CHA. No, that's not it. Wait! Think Dance With Me...in the square. Well, we'll see if that works.
THE DINING ASSOCIATION
As you know, there are a lot of us that leave around 10:00. This was started along time ago when our wonderful club was called Cheyenne Cattle Company and yes guys, Frank was at the helm then, too. (Thanks Frank! We are so glad to be back home where we belong). Where was I? Oh yea, the club would really be hopping and we were getting tired since we get there at 7:00 so we would leave and go to a restaurant and eat dinner. This works for us as we can't eat and then dance and it also works for the club because we are in there early and then leave when the masses come in and need the tables and space. Also, we discovered that we have as much fun at the dinner table as we did dancing. Because of this, we have become a close family group with a long history of intermingled lives and stories. If we sometimes appear cliquish, please don't think we are, we have just been together for more than 10 years. Every weekend and sometimes during the week and we don't mean to ignore anyone. During the week we have even gone to each others house in our jammies to work on a particular dance with each other. We're probably more fanatical about our dance than clannish. But, if you give us a chance, we will scoop you into our group with open arms and you will start building your years of history with us. Well, I said all of that stuff so that I could say about this.
Some people have also called us the Texas Country Western Dining Association. We do manage to eat every time we are together. But the fun time and the stories from Donnie Stewart, Bob Ough, Fred Blundell, John Lester and Ron Crider . . . Have you noticed that these are all guys? These are also the guys usually on the panel of our Liars Club Game. It does make one ponder . . . But, this year, at the pool party we will have our first female panel of liars. I foresee a sign of things to come.
By the way, thanks to Jerry and Vicki Martin for suggesting we go to the Japanese Steak Restaurant over by Lowe's and Garden Ridge one Saturday night. Everyone had the best time and our chef was a blast. He was extremely good at his job and funny with all of it. He even popped shrimp up in the air for each one of us to try to catch. Ron, Melinda and I were the only ones to catch the shrimp in our mouths. Does that mean we have big mouths? Come and dine with us. You will have a good time!
POOL PARTY
Well, it's time again for our annual pool party. It will take place on August 11th, 2001 at 7:00 P.M. It will be at my house: Ron and Beki Crider, 5813 Whitman Ave. Fort Worth, 76133, (The Wedgwood area). We will eat first then work it off in our pool with games and fun. Special drinks are provided or you can bring your own.
Hannah the wonder dog will be in attendance and will swim with us as always. The pool is actually hers. She just allows us to use it on occasion.

We have some new pool toys and lots of fun and then when we are all wet and looking like drowned rats a group photo is taken that goes on my computer as my wallpaper and also goes on our web site with other pool pictures. Everyone brings something. The breakdown below lets each person or couple, what type of food to bring. If your last name begins with a letter in that column, you bring that type of food.Example: Beki Crider- I will bring a meat dish of some sort.
A - D ...MEAT DISH OR CASSEROLE E - G ...DRINKS--SOFT DRINKS OR TEA OR BEER H - M
...DESERTS--COOKIES, CAKES, PIES,
(I LIKE CHOCOLATE)N - T
...SALADS- GARDEN, JELL-O, FRUIT,
POTATO OR ANY TYPEU - Z ...CHIP AND DIP- CHIPS AND A DIP OF SOME KIND Be sure and wear or bring your swim suit and plan on staying until at lease midnight. Some of the best time is when we all sit around and talk and get to know each other better. For some of you this will be a new experience and we have some Donnie stories that you have got to hear. We have been entertained for years on our Donnie Stories. If you want to dance, we can move my dining room table and dance. Please come, I promise we will have a great time. Most important, Ron will be your bartender for the night. We are going to make Caribbean Smoothies with sprinkles for all the girls and guys. Ask him about his Watermelon smoothie he made me drink this week, WOW! Even Hannah loved it so don't put it on the ground or she may help herself when you aren't looking. Also, most important...Bring a lawn chair to sit on and your towel. See you there!
MIDNIGHT PICNIC
Ron Crider has found a park location to have our special midnight picnic on September 15th, where we will have the place to ourselves. We will leave the club whenever we are ready. Either bring your own sandwiches and stuff or stop by and get a burger or order take out from your favorite place. There will be tables, swings, jungle gyms, basket ball hoops and a dancing area for your enjoyment. This is our back to school picnic, but in our own special way in the late bewitching hours with no curfew from Mom and Dad. Bring a change of clothes if you want to. Bring your tennis shoes, you might feel like a climb.
