My apology for lateness of newsletter
If you noticed, the newsletter was late getting to you, that's my fault. I was late getting it to
Charlie. I'm still on Caribbean time which means that I get around-to-it when I get around-to-it
Mon! Actually if interest rates don't go back up, you won't see me at all. Some days I'm closing
10 transactions a day and people are still mad at me because I can't (won't) squeeze them in at
8:00 or 9:00 at night. Maybe I should just bring my jammies to work, but, you know, a GIRLS
JUST GOT TO HAVE FUN!
DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY
Come dance the night away with your friends at "The Horseman." We are having so much fun at
The Horseman dancing. We had some friends we don't get to see very often come and spend a
night dancing with us and went to dinner. They were Ron and Charlotte Moncrief and Bill and
Elise Erter. We were all on a Dance Team with them a few years ago and also with Terri
Faulkner, the dance instructor at Cowboys Arlington.
We want to thank the wonderful staff at Horseman, Frank is the owner, Trista is the General
Manager and our special D.J. Cory who does a wonderful job of playing just what we want to
hear and dance to and as a result of this management team, our dance group is growing.
We also want to thank our management team at Horseman for allowing Terri Faulkner and Scott
to do an exhilarating exhibition of their competition Waltz and Two-step routine they will be
competing with at the United Country Western Dance Competitions this year. I heard several
comments in the restroom and around the dance floor and all of them were comments like
WOW!
Thank you Frank, Trista and Cory for allowing us to help out a dear friend and to show your
customers just how much country dancing has evolved and is continuing to evolve. It is not just
FW Shuffle anymore.
The CW entertainers have expanded the songs to bring in CHA-CHA rhythms, really fun
TWO-STEP beats, a slower WALTZ, great sexy and fun WEST COAST rhythms, some
MAMBO beats, EAST COAST swings and then there is the whole 70's disco beat (it's hot again)
that brings us to the HUSTLE! And the great thing is, Cory plays it all for us and is willing to
play requests if there is a certain song we really want to hear. Many of the songs also work for
several dances which really accommodate all of us for whatever dance we choose to do. In other
words, what a great club to come to. So bring your friends and please introduce them to us and if
you are a member and I don't know you, please come over to the D.J. group and say hi or ask
Cory our D.J. and he will point us out to you. We would love to get to know all our members.
NEWSLETTER INFORMATION ARTICLES
We have some very talented people and hard working people who take their time and effort in
writing articles for you on this site and the Country In Touch Newsletter.
The Newsletter staff who writes your monthly articles, Charlie and Linda who work very hard to
get it out to you (and even harder when people like me are late with their articles) and other
Executive Board members who write major articles. Don Stearns articles have been very
informative on dance. Please read all the chapter articles in your newsletter. They are
informative
and an insight into that chapter and its functions and things going on in the dance world. We try
really hard to keep you up to date on the newest dances and classes and competitions that are
taking place. Our goal is to promote country and western dancing in any way we can and make
you our member have fun dancing and gain wonderful friendships with TCWDA.
POOL PARTY
Well, it's time again for our annual pool party. It will take place on August 11th, 2001 at 7:00
P.M. It will be at my house: Ron and Beki Crider, 5813 Whitman Ave. Fort Worth, 76133, (The
Wedgwood area). We will have eat first then work it off in our pool with games and fun. We
also have special drinks or you can bring your own.
Hannah the wonder dog will be in attendance and will swim with us as always. The pool is
actually hers. She just allows us to use it on occasion.
We have some new pool toys and lots of fun and then when we are all wet and looking like
drowned rats we take a group photo that goes on my computer as my wallpaper and also goes on
our web site with other pool pictures. Everyone brings something.
We have a breakdown that tells you what type of food to bring. If your last name begins with a
letter in that column, you bring that type of food. Example: Beki Crider, I will bring a meat dish
of some sort.

Be sure and wear or bring your swim suit and plan on staying until at least midnight. Some of
the
best time is when we all sit around and talk and get to know each other better. For some of you
this will be a new experience and we have some Donnie stories that you have got to hear. We
have entertained for years on our Donnie Stories. If you want to dance, we can move my dining
room table and dance. Please come, I promise we will have a great time. Most important you
can't miss John Lester's special drink he makes for all the girls. WOW! Even Hannah loves it so
don't put it on the ground or she may help herself when you aren't looking. Also, most
important...Bring a lawn chair to sit on and your towel. See you there!
Cruise with TCWDA
Ron and I love to cruise. We just got back from a six island long cruise in the southern
Caribbean
and are ready to go again. We tried to change Ron's fourth week of vacation so we could go on
the cruise that the Stockyard's chapter has put together and we can't get it changed. The cruise
they are doing is going to be so much fun. If you can swing it go on this cruise. If you get to go,
let me know because I have a shop in Cozumel that you have to go to. That is where I buy all my
jewels and they have the best prices. Because we love to cruise, We have booked the same
cruise you are going on but in November (our fourth week of vacation) and are taking our Son
and his new bride of one year. We do wish we could go with you and know you will have a
wonderful time.
A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have
forgotten the words. You know, we have a lot of these people in TCWDA.
