October is a Winner

What a great month for TCWDA and FW members. We have grown in membership because you have shown others what fun we have and how considerate we are of others, both on and off the dance floor.

The E-Board with the help of one of our own, Don Stearns and E-Board member, Donna Rosen, organized a great All Association yearly meeting at "The Horseman Club." "The Horseman Club" was superb as always. We want to thank Frank and his wonderful staff, for all their help and for allowing us to have the meeting there. Travis, Zane, and our new DJ are always there to see that we have a great time.

Our instructors for the day were Betty Anderson, who taught the "Cowboy Cha-Cha" and Chris Barber who taught a really neat Two-step pattern.

We played one game and FW Chapter Phyllis Walls and her partner won with her speed and power. Melinda and Donnie Stewart came in a close second. It was probably one of the most fun times I have ever had at a TCWDA meeting and yet we still managed to conduct business. Great job Linda and E-Board Staff.

FW meets M/O in San Angelo

October 14th found us on the road again on one of our many road trips. Ever since a few of us went down to Midland/Odessa for a workshop in May, we have wanted to go back to see our M/O dance family. We had such a great time and so we decided that maybe we could meet sort of half-way, like we did when we were kids and you either met your friend halves or you walked her half-way home. It just so happens that some of the people we met at the workshop were from San Angelo, so that became our halfsies.

Nine from FW went, I think around 10 plus from M/O and around 30 from San Angelo came to dance, eat and have fun. Buck and Jan Vogt were our hosts and organized a wonderful weekend. Don Stearns daughter and Granddaughter and son (they live there) also joined us.

We will be going back to Midland/Odessa for a workshop that Ron and I will teach the first weekend in February, so mark your calendars now for February 3rd. You do not want to miss this wonderful group of TCWDA family. FW members have fallen in love with them and look forward to going back. Al Green, President of the Arlington Chapter and Karen Rawlins from the Stockyards Chapter joined us.

Dallas Dance Festival

Don't miss the Dallas Dance Festival the first weekend in November. Nov. 3-5th - Dallas Dance Festival. Ron and I will be there all weekend. Many of our members are competing. Go to Cool Sites page and click on Dallas Dance Festival for more details.

Welcome New Members

The FW members want to extend a big welcome to all our new members. We are glad to have you on board and welcome your ideas and impute into our growing chapter. We are planning a big CHRISTMAS PARTY get together for all of us so we can get to know each other better. This will probably be at my house in December. Also, we are working with others on a New Years Eve Dance. More details to follow.

2001 New FW- E-Board

Well, it's that time of year again to be thinking of a new slate of officers for the Fort Worth Chapter. If you would like to serve on the FW Chapter Executive Board or be on the newsletter staff, please let me, Don Stearns or John Lester know. The elections will be held at our Christmas Party in December.
